I think Hitchcock is the greatest director in cinema history and that Vertigo is arguably the finest film ever made. That said, I’m just a fan. I have no technical knowhow, no training, no industry experience and I haven’t done a great deal of reading about the art of film-making. What I have read, some years ago, is the fantastic Hitchcock/Truffaut book and I will be referring to that throughout the year. I may do some background reading from other sources after viewing a film too.

Alfred Hitchcock directed 53 films in all. One of them- The Mountain Eagle- is considered lost forever. With 52 surviving films and a weekly watching schedule, we should become experts by the end of 2017.

Okay, let’s go. Action!
